Mia has been writing for years, starting out as Mia Maxam, author of five Silhouette Romance novels. She then turned to writing as a correspondent for Gannett’s Florida Today newspaper in Melbourne, Florida. She covered town council meetings, local news and civic events in Brevard County, Florida. Mia is now a full time writer of fiction.

Lone Wolf Lodge is accessible by float plane only. Completely surrounded by wilderness and mountains, the lodge is open to visitors only in the summer. During the long dark Alaskan winters, the two dozen year round residents commute via float planes equipped with landing skis. Mia, AKA as half of Miranda Nichols, spent some of her happiest years in Alaska with her Air Force husband and two daughters. Her new series of novels is set on a remote lake northeast of Anchorage. The series is still in production stage.
